Grading Policy of Terra Cotta 2

As determined by our school and adopted in the fall of 2004 the following is a description of what proficient, basic and not yet means.  In language and social studies at the beginning of the year, you can expect to see more basics as students are not going to be proficient at 6th grade material as we are just starting the year.  As the year continues you can expect to see more proficients.  In math you should see more proficients than basics and not yets.  If there are a number of basics, this means your child needs additional help to master the material.  Parental help, teacher help and tutor help are always available.  In science, P, B and N's for long-term projects are determined based on a rubric.

Basic
