CAMP GRAY--Students will be attending Camp Gray September 21-23, 2009.  This is an important field trip for 6th graders because their first science outcome will be completed at Camp Gray as well as information for language and social studies needed for the year.  If students do not attend, they will be expected to do a comparable environmental project to complete their outcome.  This will be done on their own time.

EMAIL--Our team does our best to communicate with parents on a regular basis instead of only at conference time.  Dawna Wright sends out a weekly email informing parents about what was covered in her classes.

PARENT SHADOW DAY--At least once, if not twice a year we invite parents in to school to shadow their child for the morning.  We hold normal classes and parents receive a glimpse into what school is really like for their child.  Check back to see the dates we have set.

SHARE FAIR--At the end of the year, TC1 invites parents to come in and see all the wonderful projects students have done during the year.  The share fair is usually in the morning and on one of the last days of the school year.  Students have a fun time sharing all the projects that they are proud of.  It is very exciting!

MAP TESTING--During the fall, students will be participating in a testing program called MAP.  This is very exciting because unlike the WKCE, teachers and students will receive immediate feedback on how they did.  The test is great because it will allow students, teachers and parents to see growth throughout the year instead of a snapshot.  More information to come.

WKCE--In November students will be participating in the Federally mandated test the Wisconsin Knowledge and Concepts Exam (WKCE).  We, the teachers, understand that this is a very stressful time of the year.  Please help your child during this time by making sure they get enough sleep and a good breakfast in the morning.

CONFERENCES--Conferences are set from 8-12 on October 29, 2009 and November 5, 2009 from 4:30-8:30.  You will meet with your child's reading teacher for a ten to fifteen minute conference.

We are very excited about the new year.  Please give us a call or email us if there is anything else we can do to make this the best year for your child.
