An outdoor theater set in the middle of a forest. It presents world class performances of the greatest plays of the Western Canon with a particular emphasis on Shakespeare. They will be presenting Shakespeare�s �The Winter Tale� at 7:30 PM on Thursday, June 25 and �A Comedy of Errors� on Sunday, June 29.

It started off as a modern house built into a mountain so the mountain became part of the house but now it is the beginning of an incredibly large museum containing an awe-inspiring array of amazing collections, enormous music machines and the world�s largest carousel.

Taliesin

Frank Lloyd Wright�s world-renowned home and architectural studios in Spring Green, WI. After visiting Taliesin, you will realize why is considered one of our most inspired architects. The ideas, concepts, theories and techniques applied to every structure that bears Frank Lloyd Wright�s imprint had their genesis here. Wright used Taliesin as a kind of sketch pad ... a laboratory where ideas emerged, were given form, were tested and refined. The ideas that emerged here Wright applied to the buildings upon which his reputation rests. You can see the seeds from which Wright�s work blossomed as you tour the Taliesin Estate.  

 

Mid-Continent Railway Museum****- http://www.midcontinent.org/

If you like old trains, the Mid-Continent Railway Museum is for you. It is run by train enthusiasts and it contains an amazing array of restored railroad engines, wooden passenger, freight cars and displays from the turn of the century. It has an outdoor living history museum and it operates a railroad recreating, preserving, and interpreting the small town/shortline way of life from the "Golden Age of Railroading" spanning the years 1880 to 1916. Take a memorable, seven-mile, 50-minute round-trip ride on a former branch line of the Chicago & North Western Railway through the scenic Baraboo Hills. Passengers ride in restored steel coaches built in 1915. An authentically-attired conductor will call "all aboard!" before the train leaves from an historic wooden depot built in 1894.

Visiting the International Crane Foundation will not only personally introduce you to hundreds of cranes from all around the world, it will also show you the dedication of the ICF in conserving cranes and the wetland and grassland ecosystems on which they depend. ICF is dedicated to providing experience, knowledge, and inspiration to involve people in resolving threats to these ecosystems.

The Museum is run by the Wisconsin Historical Society and is a National Historical Landmark. It is located on the Wisconsin River at the original site of The Ringling Bros. Circus. It is a thrill for all ages � a chance to see how the circus has entertained people for generations. The museum's collection of circus artifacts is perhaps the largest in the world. It includes over 210 original wagons and vehicles once used by American, English and Irish circuses and it houses an exceptional collection of circus memorabilia.

The classic way to see the Dells. The Wisconsin River flows through bluffs and towering cliffs that were carved into beautiful sculptures during the last Ice Age. It creates one of the most beautiful spots in Wisconsin. This trip on the river is a relaxing way to enjoy the scenic beauty of this great Wisconsin spot. They also have dinner and dessert cruises. And if you want, they even have Jet Boat Tours.

The adventurous way to see the Dells is on the Wisconsin Ducks- World War II amphibious troop carriers that landed in Normandy. Now they take tourists on a trip through the Wisconsin forests and rivers so you see the natural beauty of this area. It now includes a tour of Lake Delton, the lake that vanished last year as a dam gave way and sent the entire lake and its houses into the Wisconsin River. The houses have now been removed.

Devils Lake is a nearby State Park that is one of the most beautiful parks you will ever see. The Park has some of the best Ice Age formations in the world. The lake is deep and clear and of course swimming (probably cold though), boat rental and fishing are both possible. The park has great hiking trails on the bluffs that rise above the lake.

California has nothing on Wisconsin as you will discover by a trip to the Wollersheim Winery near Devils Lake. It is on a hilltop overlooking the Wisconsin River valley and it offers a great tour of the wine making facilities. And of course, you get to taste their wines. They make quite a variety of wines such as Rieslings, Prairie Fume, full bodied reds, and most recently, some excellent ports.

 

Wisconsin Dells****- The Waterpark Capital of the World- http://wisdells.com/

The town of Wisconsin Dells is filled with an amazing array of almost everything you can imagine doing but on its outskirts, it is filled with the amazing beauty of Wisconsin. The web site lists the many options available in the Dells. They include a Magic Theater, a Water Skiing Show, amusement parks and rides, golf, mini golf, river tours, theaters, museums, petting zoos, horseback riding, fishing, go-carts, bowling, music, comedy clubs, stock car racing, the Castle of Terror, a Ghost House, an 1875 Photography Studio, Laser Tag, horse-drawn carriage ride through the Lost Canyon, ice skating, Ripley�s Believe It or Not, batting cages, wild life park, deer park, country music, and of course an Indian Casino.
